About Risør trebåtfestival
Whether you are a boat owner or one of the many who enjoy the coastal life and culture, Risør Trebåtfestival is something to consider when making plans for the summer. The festival is one of the most important and popular coastal culture events in Europe, showcasing traditional wooden boats.
Each year, the festival is visited by 12-15,000 guests this special long weekend early in August. Guests come to see some of the world’s most beautiful wooden boats, art exhibitions, large and small concerts with local, national and international painters and artists. In addition, there are special activities for children, pirate cruises, shanti choirs, happy jazz and a buzzing street life.
In the center is the large selection of beautiful wooden boats. Here there are elegant motorboats, small skiffs, beautiful sailboats, wooden boats, Viking ships, Colin Archer lifeboats, steamers, fishing vessels, old workhorses and many other classic wooden boats. Which boats are coming this year?
You can enjoy a stroll along the harbor and enjoy the sight of boats and buzzing folk, or feel the excitement of the many sailing regattas in the archipelago between the islands off Risør. Or you can watch the motorboat parade to the sound of roaring engines.
The affordable festival pass gives you access to the entire festival area, all exhibitions, as well as culture and evening concerts with famous and beloved stars. To anyone who enjoys honest and good craftsmanship, the quality of boating and a festive event with thousands of friends in the boat community: come to Risør for a unique summer experience.
